A true Turner-inspired location, the warmth of the sky with its oranges enthralled me and the browns reflecting on to the landscape evoked the tender spirit of this place. This affectionate light appeared to be guiding my eye on to the peaceful priory with its farm and cloistered environment.
The fells stand in the background, protecting the deep, flat date from the elements and providing an aura of calm. You could almost close your eyes and imagine to the far side of the abbey a cricket field and hear the clunking of the ball as it hits the bat. Swaledale is said to be a favourite dale of the Prince of Wales and I have no doubt why. It truly is a hidden gem.

Framed is double mounted in off white with contemporary distressed bronze/copper frame.
