An invitation to pause and appreciate the landscape
For over sixty years, I’ve stood among Yorkshire’s windswept moors, not just to paint what I see, but to express what I feel. The moors have been my greatest inspiration and, at times, my greatest challenge.
On the bleakest days, when the sky presses down and the land stretches endlessly, there’s a raw beauty that speaks directly to my soul. My paintings are my way of capturing those moments—not just the landscapes, but the emotions they stir within me.
When I paint, it’s a conversation between light and shadow, between love and struggle, between the fleeting and the eternal. I don’t use white paint; the light in my work comes from the untouched purity of the paper itself, shining through the layers of transparent washes. It’s an honesty that Yorkshire demands and deserves.
Every watercolour I create holds a fragment of my connection to this land. ….. it’s a window into Yorkshire’s spirit, a reflection of resilience, raw beauty, and timeless love affair.
So, I invite you to pause for a moment. Let the drama of the skies and the whisper of the moors draw you in. Feel the soul of Yorkshire as I do. It’s waiting for you.
