As I put brush to paper to capture Upper Knowles Farm, the words of Tennyson's poem, the Deserted House came floating to mind,
"Come away; for life and thought Here no longer dwell. But in city glorious - - A great distant city - have brought A mansion incorruptible would they could have stayed with us".
Every time I view this work, I hear the echo of these words.
